Burns Night 2024 was a success with over 80 persons fed and entertained by the Northwest Territorial Pipe Band, Andrea Bettger and Ben Rousseau, CK Dance Company (let by Cindy Kimove) and the Yellowknife Scottish Country Dance Club (led by Dave Taylor).  Special thanks to Northern Chicks Catering, the Elks and the Old Country Sausage House in Edmonton.

Burns Night is a celebration of the poetry and legacy of Robert Burns, the poet laureate of Scotland, preserver of Scottish culture and pioneer of the Romantic Movement.  He was born on January 25, 1759 and he has been celebrated at a Burns Night Supper every year since 1803.  Sir Walter Scott met him.  For the Scottish diaspora, he is a national hero.

For Yellowknife, the Northwest Territorial Pipe Band has organized a Burns Night Supper at least for the last 25 years.  Any profits realized from the dinner go to the Northwest Territorial Pipe Band - so this is a fundraiser for our not-for-profit society.

Burns Night in Yellowknife is a major social event for Yellowknife - it is where all the cool people hang out... Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 25, 2025.
