The City of Yellowknife's Canada Day parade was back on July 1, 2022 after a three-year hiatus − and the Northwest Territories Pipe Band was front and centre once again!  Participating in this year's parade were Pipe Major Lori Clark, Pipe Sergeant Lorie Crawford, pipers Brad Heath, Dawna Stuckless, Alexandra Giroux and Ryan Gordon, Drum Major Kelly Fischer, side drummer Jennifer Zhu and bass drummer Sue McKinney. Thanks to Lyndon Clark for the cold water waiting for us at the end of the parade! Photo courtesy of Tessa MacIntosh

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table this evening at the Yellowknife Community Showcase on September 14, 2022 at the Multiplex. Pipe Major Lori Clark and side drummer Chris Moore are shown here waiting for more people to stop by and talk with us. Also helping out at our table last night were Drum Major Kelly Fischer, side drummer Jennifer Zhu and piper Brad Heath. Piping lessons will start in a couple of weeks - so there's still time to contact us if you're interested in learning to play the Great Highland Bagpipes. You can contact us by email (go to the Contact page) or visit us on our Facebook page (search Northwest Territories Pipe Band). Our group lessons for beginners are tentatively scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.

NWTPB members Jeff Phillips, Brad Heath and Boerny Phillips at the 2015 Yellowknife Community Showcase.

Want to learn more about the NWT Pipe Band - maybe even talk to us about piping or drumming lessons? Come see us at the Community Showcase Night on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Yellowknife Multiplex Gym. Local non-profit organizations offering leisure, health, education, and active living opportunities will be featured at this event. This is a great chance for residents to register for programs or leagues, sign up to volunteer, and learn about various services and opportunities available.
